ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information, Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan to bring stability in edible products’ prices.
While addressing the media, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the premier had directed the authorities to bring stability in prices of edible products.
Awan said that the initiatives of providing subsidized items in the utility stores was generating positive results. The prime minister had also directed to not increase the prices of electricity and gas, she added.
Awan said that relief to the low-income salaried persons would be given through a complete framework.
Earlier on Thursday, Awan said that Imran Khan had sought proposals from the provincial governments to reduce wheat prices. The prime minister’s orders of the crackdown against the wheat smuggling, the citizen would be relieved soon, she added.
She said that Imran Khan had directed authorities to reduce the prices of petrol, diesel, and gas. The aim was to provide relief to people and redress their grievances, she added.
According to Awan, this is a practical step to save the national economy from losses of billions of rupees.
