KASUR: A cop was martyred while two dacoits were killed in a police encounter in Kasur on Saturday.
According to sources, a police team conducted a search operation at the Pirwala Road. During operation, the robbers opened fire at the police team. Police added in exchange of fire for three hours a police constable, Faisal embraced martyrdom, while two dacoits were killed on the spot.
Police said other accomplices of dacoits managed to flee from the scene. Police recovered weapons, motorbike and cell phones from the spot. Meanwhile, the police have started search operation for the arrest of other dacoits after cordoning off the area.
Separately, on Friday in an alleged police encounter, the police had claimed to have killed four suspected dacoits in Punjab’s district of Vehari.
The alleged police shootout took place near Chak-519 AB. As a result, four alleged suspects were killed. The bodies were moved to the District Headquarters Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
