DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Wednesday thwarted a terrorist attack on a police check post at Dera Ismail Khan.
According to police sources, more than 10 terrorists, riding motorcycles attacked the Pota check-post in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station, DI Khan, with heavy weapons.
During in retaliation by police deployed at the post, the terrorists flee from the spot. Meanwhile, in the wake of attack police started search operations in different parts of DI Khan and apprehended several suspects. Police said the suspects were taken into custody for investigation regarding the attack.
On August 24, 2019, two people were killed in a terrorist attack on a police check post in Drabin, area of Dera Ismail Khan. Militants attacked the police check post located at Darazinda MOR on the night from different commands.
In the retaliatory firing of police, terrorists fled the scene, however, a private security guard of the petrol pump died on the scene, while three others sustained serious injuries as a result of the exchange of fire.
In a separate terror attack in DI Khan last year, at least nine people including four policemen were killed and scores of others were injured in shooting and blast attack in Dera Ismail Khan.
In July, last year, in a suicide blast at District Headquarters Hospital Dera Ismail Khan injured more than 14 innocent people.
