KARACHI: Police have claimed to have solved the murder of a pregnant woman in Karachi’s Bin Qasim area, arresting her husband and an alleged accomplice following a technical and professional investigation.
According to police sources, the body of an unidentified pregnant woman was recovered from the Bin Qasim area some time ago. She had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Police launched an investigation into the case and used technical evidence to trace the suspects.
Initial investigations suggest that the woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband in collusion with one of his associates.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho and Provincial Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar commended the police team for tracing the case and apprehending the suspects.
Senior officials have directed investigators to expand the scope of the probe to determine the motive behind the murder and establish whether any other individuals were involved in the crime.
In recognition of the police team’s efforts, the Sindh IG also announced certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for the relevant station house officer (SHO), sub-inspector investigation officer (SIO), and other officers and personnel involved in the investigation.
