US technology company Mobiz has established its regional office in Karachi.
Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Chairman Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu welcomed the establishment of the Mobiz office, saying the company is a Pakistani-owned technology firm based in Silicon Valley, USA, providing cloud, data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity services across various countries.
He said Pakistan’s talented youth have the potential to play a major role in the global IT market. The expansion of international technology companies into Pakistan reflects confidence in the country’s IT talent, he added, noting that Pakistan has significant opportunities to become a regional technology and global services hub.
Sidhu said the SECP was working on transparency, digitalization and regulatory reforms to facilitate ease of doing business. Modern technology can help reduce business costs and processing time while improving transparency and efficiency, he added.
He further said investment by global IT companies in Pakistan would create employment opportunities for young people and open new avenues for them to work in international markets.
The SECP chairman congratulated Mobiz Global on the launch of its Karachi office and expressed hope that the company would develop a strategy for further expansion in Pakistan.
