ISLAMABAD: Important news regarding M-Tag has come to light for citizens traveling on motorways.

The authorities have instructed vehicle owners to get their old M-Tags replaced before the due date, as the old M-Tags are expiring on May 31.

According to the details, citizens can get their vehicles’ new M-Tags replaced free of cost before June 1. Officials say that to facilitate the citizens, the process of replacing the old M-Tag has been kept free for now, however, a fee will be imposed on this facility after the due date.

According to the announcement, the fee for installing or replacing an M-Tag will be fixed at Rs 150 from June 1, while the same fee will be increased to Rs 300 from July 1. Therefore, citizens traveling on motorways have been instructed to get their new M-Tags on time to avoid any additional expenses or hassle.

According to the authorities, the M-tag is used to make travel on motorways easier, faster and more organized. With the help of the M-tag, vehicles can easily pass through toll plazas without having to stand in long queues, which not only saves time but also reduces traffic pressure.

The motorway administration says that after the old M-tag expires, citizens may face difficulties at toll plazas, so all vehicle owners should not wait for the last date and contact their nearest M-tag center as soon as possible.

The authorities have appealed to citizens to verify their M-tag before traveling so that there is no obstacle at the time of entering the motorway. Especially people who use the motorway daily, owners of commercial vehicles and citizens going on long journeys should follow this instruction immediately.
