ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday delivered a brief formal statement following the conclusion of marathon US–Iran negotiations in Islamabad, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue.
Standing at a podium with national and state flags behind him, Dar said: “Thank you to America and Iran. Multiple rounds of comprehensive and constructive talks have taken place between both delegations. Pakistan will continue to play its role for peace.”

His remarks came after 21 hours of direct US–Iran engagement — the first since 1979 — ended without breakthrough.
While both sides held firm on red lines, Dar’s statement sought to emphasize Pakistan’s role as a neutral host and mediator, reiterating Islamabad’s willingness to support further dialogue.
Earlier, Vice President JD Vance had praised Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for their efforts to bridge gaps between Washington and Tehran. Iran’s media, meanwhile, framed the deadlock as the result of “excessive demands” by the United States.
