LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar held a meeting with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Chairman Lieutenant General (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa.
During the meeting, both agreed to expedite the work on the on-going projects of CPEC. The chief minister also ordered to inaugurate the service for the public in two months and directed the contractors to speed up the work.
The work on the Orange Line under the tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was started in October 2015.
The project was to be completed within 27 months but due to stay order issued by the Lahore High Court and an exponential increase in the cost of the scheme progressed slowly and will now be completed after a delay of two years. The line will be Pakistan’s first metro.
