Five robbers were killed during a police encounter in Muridke, while two dacoits managed to flee, the media reported on Tuesday.
As per the police, seven dacoits on three motorcycles were busy looting the citizens at Karto Stop when the police party reached there. Seeing the police, the robbers start firing on them, and in the retaliating fire from the police, five robbers were killed while their two accomplices managed to flee.
As per the police, the killed robbers had shot dead a woman and wounded her husband during a robbery resistance some days ago at the same place, while they were also involved in many other heinous crimes.
Police recovered motorcycles, weapons, and ammunition from the possession of the killed dacoits.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the hospital where the process of their identification is in progress, while police raids are continues for the arrest of the two other dacoits.
