Stand-up comedian and actor Shafaat Ali will host the upcoming season of “Pakistan Idol,” as the country’s biggest music competition is making a grand comeback after a decade-long hiatus, sparking excitement among the public.
Pakistan Idol will return with a star-studded panel of judges, including actor Fawad Khan, singer Zeb Bangash, vocalist and qawwal Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Strings band musician Bilal Maqsood.
Production company MH Global has acquired all rights to the show from Fremantle to ensure an impactful presentation.
An extraordinary strategy has been devised for the new season, under which the show will be broadcast simultaneously on five different television networks — a first for any “Idol” franchise worldwide.

According to the company, this multi-platform strategy aims to reach audiences across Pakistan’s diverse regions and languages.
MH Global’s director, Zoya Merchant, said that their collaboration with Fremantle on Pakistan Idol is a major step forward for the country’s creative and entertainment industries. “It’s not just a show; it’s a cultural movement,” she remarked.
She added that Pakistan has immense musical talent, and this platform will showcase it not only nationally but also internationally.
It is worth noting that the first season of “Pakistan Idol” premiered on Geo Entertainment in December 2013 and concluded in April 2014 with the victory of Lahore-based singer Zamad Baig.
Auditions for the new season are currently underway, and music enthusiasts from across Pakistan can submit their auditions through the “Bigen Platform.”
Production is expected to begin later this year, while broadcast and premiere dates will be announced soon.
