To provide relief to the consumers, the federal government has made a final decision to remove Rs. 35 PTV fee from the electricity bills, while an announcement will be made in this record soon, sources revealed on Saturday.
As per the sources PTV fee will be removed for electricity consumers of all categories.
It should be noted that a plan to eliminate PTV and other unnecessary surcharges was prepared on the instructions of the Prime Minister earlier this month.
About 1.5 billion rupees are collected from 42.6 million consumers only in the form of the PTV fee.
The Prime Minister was told in the briefing that it has been decided to provide tariff relief to consumers by removing the PTV fee. The Prime Minister had directed to introduction of any other mechanism for PTV resources.
