More than 700 people have so far been arrested in a crackdown against Israeli spies in Iran, as reported by international media on Wednesday.
According to Iranian media reports, Iranian authorities have executed another Mossad agent. Three Israeli spies have been hanged within a week.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran will not give up nuclear technology. “We have worked very hard to acquire nuclear technology. War was imposed on us under the pretext of nuclear weapons. Our scientists have made great sacrifices for nuclear technology.”
Why did suspicion of espionage arise?
Some analysts believe that alongside airstrikes against Iran, Israel also carried out ground operations. The precision with which the country’s top leadership was targeted led the Iranian leadership to become convinced that Israeli spies played a role that could not be ignored.
Analysts also believe that Israel’s espionage network extends not only throughout Iran but across the entire region, particularly affecting Gulf countries. Because of this, taking action against Israel in response to attacks on Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran, or any form of aggression, has become increasingly difficult.
