The son of the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, has gone missing in Karachi.
In a statement released on social media, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman said that his 13-year-old son, Abdul Basit, is studying in the Malir area of Karachi. He left the madrasa at 5 PM, but has not yet returned home. Efforts are being made to find his son.
The SSP Korangi stated that he contacted Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman after seeing the social media post about his son’s disappearance and also spoke on the phone with Hidayat-ur-Rehman’s relatives in Karachi. So far, no official report has been filed regarding the disappearance of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman’s son.
Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti, contacted Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman by phone and inquired about the details of the incident.
Sarfraz Bugti also reached out to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to discuss the disappearance of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman’s son and exchanged views on the efforts for his recovery.
According to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the Sindh Chief Minister has instructed the police and relevant authorities to take action. There is deep concern over the disappearance of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman’s son, and they are in contact with the Sindh government for the child’s recovery.
