Lance Khan, a rising star in Pakistani baseball and a standout collegiate athlete in the United States, tragically passed away following a car accident in Houston on Sunday, June 15. He was 21.
Khan, who represented Pakistan in the 2023 Lincoln Cup, was widely regarded as one of the national program’s brightest young prospects as the Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) continues its efforts to elevate the sport’s profile in the country.
He had been playing college baseball for the University of St. Thomas in Houston, having developed through the ranks of Lamar Little League before advancing to collegiate competition.
Pakistan Baseball Federation President Fakhar Shah paid tribute to the young athlete, calling him “one of the brightest talents we had,” and praising his role in inspiring a new generation of Pakistani baseball players.
Khan’s promising career was defined by resilience. Having recently overcome a battle with cancer, he returned to the field with renewed determination, earning admiration from teammates and coaches alike on both sides of the world.
The accident also injured one of Khan’s longtime friends, who is expected to make a full recovery. News of his passing has prompted an outpouring of grief and remembrance from teammates, coaches, and friends in both Pakistan and the United States.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist the Khan family with funeral and memorial expenses.
Lance Khan is survived by his parents, Michelle and Romail, and his three older brothers.
