Iranian intelligence agencies have acquired a significant cache of sensitive Israeli papers, some of which relate to the nuclear intentions and installations of Tehran’s arch enemy, according to Iran’s state media on Saturday.
Iran has gotten thousands of files, pictures, and videos from Israel including information on nuclear facilities and other sensitive security information, according to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.
The report, citing unnamed sources, stated that the volume of the documents is so large that a detailed analysis will require considerable time.
Reports also revealed that the transfer of this sensitive material to Iran was conducted discreetly, to ensure that all information could reach designated locations securely.
Al Jazeera noted that this revelation comes shortly after Israeli police arrested several suspects last month in connection with a leak of classified documents related to the Gaza war from Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office.
However, the Iranian media report did not clarify whether these arrests are directly linked to the intelligence claimed by Iran.
It is important to note that tensions between Iran and Israel have escalated to dangerous levels several times in recent years, and this latest claim could elevate the conflict to a new dimension.
As of now, Israeli authorities have not issued any official response to the report.
