An earthquake once again caused tremors that were felt in Karachi, leading to panic and fear among the citizens. People came out of their homes, offices, and shopping malls, as reported by national media.
According to details, tremors were felt once again in various areas of Karachi, including Malir, Quaidabad, Landhi Sherpao Colony, Hospital Chowrangi, and Bin Qasim Town.
In addition, tremors were also felt in Shah Latif Town and Bhains Colony. Prior to this, tremors had already been felt several times in various areas just a day earlier.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 80 kilometers. The epicenter was 10 kilometers east of Malir.
For the past two days, tremors have been felt repeatedly in different parts of the city. The epicenter of the earthquake on Sunday evening was Quaidabad, while the epicenter on Monday morning was Gadap.
According to experts, these tremors are occurring in the Landhi Fault Region and are mild in nature. It may take a few days for the fault line to stabilize, and tremors may continue to be felt over the next few days.
Chief Meteorologist Ameer Haider stated that the tremors are occurring in the Landhi Fault Region and are minor in nature. So far, no damage has been reported.
Ameer Haider also said that Karachi’s fault line is near Thana Bola Khan and there is also a main boundary line near Kirthar. No major earthquake has occurred on this fault line to date.
He further stated that it may take a few days for the fault line to return to normal. Tremors may continue to be felt in the city for one to two days, and their intensity will gradually decrease.
