The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai will remain closed on May 28 in observance of a public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan to mark Youm-e-Takbeer.
In an official notification, the Embassy stated: “The Pakistani community residing in the UAE is informed that the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai will remain closed on May 28 in observance of the public holiday on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer.”
Youm-e-Takbeer commemorates the day Pakistan became the first Muslim-majority country—and the seventh nation in the world—to attain nuclear capability following a series of nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998, in Chagai, Balochistan.
It is noteworthy that the Government of Pakistan has declared Wednesday, May 28, a nationwide public holiday to commemorate this historic milestone.
