The luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the national leadership in Islamabad has been postponed due to certain reasons, as reported by national media.
According to details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had not called for an all-parties conference, but had invited the national leadership. Sources say that along with the leaders of political parties, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, and Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Syed Mehdi Shah were also invited to the luncheon.
The purpose of the invitation was to express gratitude for the fact that, against Indian aggression, the leaders of Pakistan’s political parties stood united in strong support of the government and Pakistan’s armed forces, thereby strengthening the concept of national unity.
Before the war imposed by India, the general perception was that there were severe differences within Pakistan’s political leadership, and it would be difficult for the government to gain full support from all political parties against India.
However, India’s misconception was dispelled when, during the National Assembly session, leaders of all political parties unanimously supported the armed forces and fully backed the actions taken by the government.
Sources state that the national leadership is likely to be invited again in a few days, where gratitude will be expressed for the show of political unity.
