Pakistan on Friday shot down six more Israeli-made Indian drones in various areas of Punjab, bringing the toll of the enemy drones to 77, Pakistani media reported while quoting security and military sources.
As per the reports, the drones were intercepted and downed in Okara, Pakpattan, and Vehari districts. Of the, four were downed in Okara, while one each was intercepted in Pakpattan and Vehari.
The security officials said the drones had entered Pakistani territory and were being monitored via radar before being engaged and destroyed. “Our air defence system can detect and track even small drones,” said a military spokesperson, adding that the response followed standard operational protocols, especially in areas close to urban populations and flight paths of commercial airlines.
Local police confirmed that drone wreckage landed in agricultural fields near heavily populated areas, specifically around villages 154L and 114L. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties occurred in the incidents.
“The drones were tracked and neutralized as soon as they entered our airspace,” a police official stated. “Thanks to the swift response by our forces, civilian lives remained unharmed.” He added that security teams quickly secured the crash sites and collected debris for investigation.
According to the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), enemy drones are under constant surveillance. “Our radar systems operate around the clock, and any hostile activity is dealt with promptly under a structured operational protocol,” he said.
