Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has warned that according to confirmed intelligence reports, India is planning aggression within the next 24 to 36 hours using the Pahalgam incident as a pretext. The federal minister issued a clear message that any kind of adventurism will be met with a decisive response.
According to a report by national media, in a late-night video statement, Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan firmly rejects India’s self-assumed role as plaintiff, judge, and executioner in the region. He clarified that Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorism for the past two decades and has strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms globally.
Attaullah Tarar said that after the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan, being a responsible state, openly offered free and impartial investigations to uncover the truth and understand the motives behind it. However, unfortunately, India chose the path of irrationality and confrontation, which will have devastating consequences for the region and the world.
The Information Minister further said that avoiding neutral investigations is in itself strong evidence of India’s true intentions. Deliberately inflaming public sentiment for political gain and making such decisions is unfortunate and regrettable.
The federal minister made it clear that Pakistan reiterates that any military adventurism from India will be met with a certain and decisive response.
He said that the international community needs to understand that the responsibility for the catastrophic consequences of war will lie solely with India. The Pakistani nation will defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
It should be noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday gave the Indian army “operational freedom” to respond to the attack in Pahalgam, in occupied Kashmir. According to the foreign news agency AFP, senior Indian sources confirmed this development.
India had announced the immediate suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty on Tuesday, April 22, following the alleged killing of 26 tourists in the Muslim-majority area of Pahalgam in occupied Kashmir.
