The Indian government on Tuesday blocked the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, a private TV channel reported.
Pakistan has not officially responded to the ban of Khawaja Asif’s X account, but it comes at a time when both countries are once again locked in a blame game after terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
A day earlier, India also blocked 16 major Pakistani YouTube channels, including leading news outlets like Geo News, ARY News, SAMAA TV, Dawn News, BOL News, and GNN, accusing them of sharing what Indian authorities called “provocative and communally sensitive content.”
These actions were reportedly based on recommendations from India’s Ministry of Home Affairs after the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
Indian authorities have claimed the measures are part of a crackdown on narratives coming from across the border.
Pakistan on Tuesday shot down an Indian quadcopter after it entered a Pakistani area on the Line of Control (LoC).
According to security sources, the enemy quadcopter violated Pakistan’s airspace in the Manawar sector of the Bambar area for espionage purposes. However, Pakistani forces responded swiftly and shot it down.
