MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and District Bar member Zafar Iqbal Mughal passed away in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
According to details, the late lawyer from Layyah was detained by NAB authorities in the bogus housing scheme case on October 11. NAB filed reference against 14 people, including late advocate last month.
Late Advocate Zafar Iqbal, who was in NAB custody for 86 days, was shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan four days ago when his health deteriorated in NAB custody where he died in hospital.
NAB had filed a reference against Iqbal and others last month on the charges of non-registered housing colony on 254 acres in Layyah.
He was arrested on 11th October along with his partner Raza Malik. The accountability court had fixed 17th January for his hearing in Multan.
The late PTI leader also participated in the general election on a ticket. His heir have confirmed his death.
