Actress and television host Nida Yasir has apologized after announcing the marriage of a fellow actress without confirmation. Her remarks, made during a recent Eid special program, sparked criticism on social media and prompted a public clarification.
In a post shared by Niche Lifestyle on Wednesday, Yasir expressed regret for the announcement without verifying the information. “I feel remorseful for announcing the marriage of an actress without her consent. I made the statement during an Eid show, and I now realize it was wrong,” she said.
She explained that the claim was based on hearsay. “Often, what we say on air comes from things we’ve heard in the past. A fellow celebrity had told me about this supposed marriage, and such gossip tends to stay in our minds. That person, too, had heard it from somewhere else.”
Confirming her announcement as a rumor, Yasir acknowledged the cultural sensitivity of her actions. “In Pakistan, it’s considered inappropriate to announce a woman’s marriage, especially if she is unmarried, without confirmation. I won’t name her, as doing so would only escalate the situation.”

She shared that the actress later called her to clarify that she was not married. Unfortunately, the news had already been picked up by various outlets as if it were confirmed. Following the incident, Yasir also posted a written apology on social media.
Who was she?
The mystery surrounding Nida Yasir’s on-air mention of an unnamed actress’s marriage has now been clarified. The news, originally aired during a festive TV special, sparked widespread speculation after Yasir listed Anmol Baloch among recently married celebrities, prompting singer Falak Shabbir to offer his congratulations on live television.
Following the segment, rumors swirled on social media, but Anmol Baloch remained silent for quite some time. However, on April 4th, the actress addressed the speculation via her Instagram story, denying the marriage rumors. “I am not married yet,” she wrote, assuring fans that she would personally share any such news when the time was right. She also thanked her followers for their continued love and support.
