PTI leader Aliya Hamza has been transferred to District Jail Jhelum, as reported by national media on Sunday.
According to a report, PTI leader Aliya Hamza has been transferred to District Jail Jhelum on a 14-day judicial remand. Aliya Hamza was presented in a local court in Islamabad on Saturday, from where she was initially sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand but was later transferred to Jhelum Jail.
Sources say that the Adiala Jail administration expressed their inability to take Aliya Hamza, stating that due to overcrowding in the women’s barracks, she was sent to Jhelum Jail instead.
It is worth mentioning that a case has been registered against Aliya Hamza at the Airport Police Station in Islamabad, and she was arrested by the police yesterday.
It should be remembered that during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure, the crackdown against PTI, the arrest of its leaders, and the detention of workers have become routine, mainly due to the events of May 9.
The May 9 tragedy is one of the most tragic incidents in the country’s history, which brought national shame. Miscreants attacked national monuments, raising serious questions about the enforcement of the law during this time.
The Army Chief Asim Muneer, President Asif Zardari, and the country’s top leadership have openly condemned the events of May 9, and demands for action against the miscreants continue to gain momentum.
