In the opening match of the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League, Islamabad United defeated Lahore Qalandars easily by 8 wickets. The match was played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
According to details, Islamabad United chased the 140-run target given by Lahore Qalandars with ease, losing only 2 wickets in 17.4 overs. During the chase, Colin Munro played an unbeaten innings of 59 runs, while Salman Ali Agha also scored 41 runs.
Earlier, Sahibzada Farhan scored 25 runs before getting out to Haris Rauf, and Andre Gous made only 4 runs. For Lahore Qalandars, Asif Afridi and Haris Rauf took one wicket each. The Lahore Qalandars team was bowled out for 139 runs in 19.2 overs.
For the Qalandars, Abdullah Shafique was the key batter with 66 runs. Sikandar Raza scored 23 and Daryl Mitchell 13 before returning to the pavilion. Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 1, Sam Billings got out without scoring, David Wiese was out for 0, and captain Shaheen Afridi managed only 2 runs.
On the other hand, from Islamabad United, Jason Holder took 4 wickets while captain Shadab Khan claimed three. Shadab Khan had won the toss and invited Shaheen Afridi’s side to bat first. Islamabad United is playing in PSL 10 as the defending champion.
