Ahead of Ramazan, the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced by Rs6.15 per kilogram for March.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), following the price revision, the new LPG rate has been set at Rs247.82 per kg.
Similarly, the price of an 11.8kg domestic cylinder has also been reduced by Rs72.57, bringing its new cost to Rs2,924.31 from the previous Rs2,996.88.
Meanwhile, the federal government has planned to deregulate petroleum product prices, a move that has been met with resistance from the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association.
In a letter to Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik, the association expressed concerns that deregulation would lead to an increase in the sale of smuggled Iranian oil and non-standard fuel in the country.
