The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 12 paisa against the US dollar (USD) on the final trading day of February and reached Rs279.60 in the interbank market on Friday.
Currency exchange companies were quoting the USD at Rs279.60 against the PKR.
During the ongoing fiscal year, the PKR has weakened by Rs1.38 or 0.49 per cent against the USD. Since the start of 2025, it has declined by Rs1.17 or 0.42 per cent.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the PKR depreciated by 10.73 paisa or 0.04 per cent against the USD in Thursday’s interbank session, closing at Rs279.72 compared to Rs279.62 on Wednesday.
This marks the rupee’s lowest level against the US dollar, reflecting a 0.79 per cent drop from its 52-week high of Rs277.51, recorded on 4th October 2024.
Currency exchange companies were quoting the USD at Rs279.20 for buying and Rs281.50 for selling.
