Aurat March Lahore has advocated for the cessation of internet censorship, the repeal of the defamation law, the establishment of a family court in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, and the implementation of women’s rights legislation in Punjab.
The rally for Aurat March took place today in Lahore, where participants also championed the rights of religious and gender minorities, as well as other marginalized groups. Attendees highlighted various social issues and called upon the government to take prompt action.
The day prior to the march, the organizers announced that the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore had granted authorization for the event.
The march commenced at the Lahore Press Club and proceeded towards Faletti Hotel along Edgerton Road at 2 PM.
Comprehensive security measures were implemented to ensure the safety of the demonstrators.
The organizers expressed their appreciation to the Lahore High Court for affirming their right to assemble peacefully.
