The media wing of the army has reported that Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has pledged to eliminate terrorist proxies, which he referred to as ‘frenemies,’ following the martyrdom of 18 paramilitary personnel during a security operation in Kalat, Balochistan.
“Those who serve as terrorist proxies for their foreign masters, adept at employing double standards—hunting with the hunter while running with the hare—are fully aware of our capabilities,” stated COAS Munir during his visit to the province on Saturday.
“Regardless of the actions taken by these so-called ‘frenemies,’ they will ultimately be overcome by the determination of our proud nation and its Armed Forces, Inshallah.
In defense of our homeland and its citizens, we will undoubtedly respond and ‘hunt you down’ whenever necessary, regardless of your location,” he emphasized.
Eighteen personnel from the Frontier Corps were martyred during a security operation in the Kalat district on the night of January 31 to February 1, targeting terrorists who were attempting to establish roadblocks to attack civilian vehicles. The operation also resulted in the deaths of at least 12 terrorists.
Additionally, at least 11 terrorists were killed in the Harnai area of Balochistan. Earlier in the day, a statement from the media wing indicated that the terrorist operation, “instigated by the enemy and hostile forces,” aimed to disrupt the region’s peaceful environment.
