Wildfires surrounding Los Angeles have ravaged the region, destroying hundreds of homes, including those of several celebrities.

Among the casualties are properties belonging to Billy Crystal, Mandy Moore, and Paris Hilton. At least five people have died in the disaster, which has stretched firefighting resources and water supplies to their limits. More than 100,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate as the flames spread uncontrollably.

Celebrity Homes Lost in the Fires

Media personality Paris Hilton’s $8.4 million beachfront mansion in Malibu was among the properties consumed by the inferno.

Hilton expressed her devastation on X (formerly Twitter), writing:

“Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience. I am heartbroken beyond words.”

The largest wildfire has consumed nearly 12,000 acres (4,856 hectares) in Pacific Palisades, a scenic area between Santa Monica and Malibu that is home to numerous stars from film, television, and music.

Actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, known for their roles in The O.C. and Gossip Girl respectively, lost their Pacific Palisades home, purchased in 2019 for $6.5 million.

Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice, who had lived in their Pacific Palisades home since 1979, released a statement saying:

“We are heartbroken, of course, but with the love of our children and friends, we will get through this.”

Journalist and former California first lady Maria Shriver also mourned the devastation in the upscale enclave, sharing on X:

“Everything is gone. Our neighborhood, our restaurants. The firefighters have done their best, but this fire is massive and out of control.”

Mass Evacuations among Celebrities

Several stars were forced to evacuate as the fire tore through some of Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhoods. Celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Mandy Moore, and Maria Shriver were among the thousands fleeing the flames.

Jamie Lee Curtis shared her gratitude on Instagram, stating that her family is safe but suggesting that her home and neighborhood might not have survived:

“It’s a terrifying situation, and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all the good Samaritans helping people get out of harm’s way.”

Other stars with homes in the fire-affected area, including Adam Sandler, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg, are anxiously awaiting news about their properties.

As the wildfires continue to rage, communities are rallying together, with firefighters and volunteers working tirelessly to contain the destruction.
