An Indian Coast Guard ALH Dhruv helicopter crashed on Sunday during a training flight near Porbandar in Gujarat. Tragically, all three onboard lost their lives. The victims were rushed to Bhavsinhji Civil Hospital but could not be saved.
According to reports, the helicopter was carrying three personnel, including two pilots. Coast Guard officials confirmed to news agencies that all three succumbed to their injuries.
Porbandar Superintendent of Police Bhagirath Singh Jadeja stated that the incident occurred at 12:10 AM. He added that the crew members were rescued from the helicopter in a severely burnt state and transported to a local hospital in Porbandar.
Rajesh Kanmiya, an inspector at Kamla Bagh Police Station, later confirmed that all three crew members passed away at the hospital. Every year, India witnesses numerous incidents involving crashes of helicopters and planes belonging to the Coast Guard or the Indian Army.
These accidents not only result in tragic loss of lives but also raise serious concerns about the safety and security protocols for the nation’s armed forces. Ensuring the safety of security personnel is paramount, as they are entrusted with the critical responsibility of protecting the nation and conducting operations to curb crime and safeguard citizens.
