Gold prices in Pakistan dropped on Friday, reflecting a decline in international rates.
The price of gold per tola in the local market settled at Rs273,200, marking a decrease of Rs800 in a single day. Similarly, 10-gram gold was priced at Rs234,225, down by Rs686, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
This follows Thursday’s increase of Rs1,400 per tola in local gold prices.
Internationally, gold prices also edged lower on Friday. The APGJSA reported an international rate of $2,620 per ounce (including a $20 premium), reflecting a daily loss of $8.
Spot gold slipped 0.2% to $2,630.28 per ounce as of 0221 GMT but showed a 0.3% weekly gain. US gold futures also eased 0.2%, settling at $2,649.10. Meanwhile, silver prices in Pakistan remained unchanged at Rs3,350 per tola.
