Samsung Pakistan has made a significant price cut on its flagship device, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Previously priced at Rs435,000, the phone is now available for Rs400,000 on Samsung’s official website, offering a savings of Rs35,000. This price reduction applies to the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB ROM variant.
The move isn’t entirely unexpected, as Samsung appears keen to boost sales of the S24 Ultra ahead of the anticipated launch of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is likely to debut in mid to late January 2025. While the exact launch date remains unconfirmed, it’s clear that the new model is just around the corner.
If you’re considering purchasing the Galaxy S24 Ultra, keep in mind that ordering from Samsung’s website may result in a longer delivery wait. Alternatively, you can visit local markets, though prices may be higher. Some markets in Rawalpindi and Lahore are still charging more for the same device. Local retailers may not match the Rs400,000 price tag from the official website and could add a premium on top.
This price discrepancy between the official website and local markets can be attributed to a “black market” effect, where sellers intentionally withhold stock to drive prices up for profit. Furthermore, recent sales tax changes have allowed local sellers more flexibility in setting their own prices on imported models. This pricing trend isn’t exclusive to Samsung; other brands like Infinix and Xiaomi are also seeing higher prices in local markets compared to their official listings.
Looking ahead, Samsung’s plans include the release of four new models in the Galaxy S25 lineup: the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. These upcoming devices are expected to feature a redesigned look, upgraded processors, enhanced displays, and exciting new Galaxy AI capabilities. There are even rumors of a slim version of the Galaxy S25 in development, adding to the anticipation for Samsung’s next big launch.
