Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has finally addressed the pregnancy rumors that have been circulating since her wedding. The actress, who tied the knot with Zaheer Iqbal under the Civil Marriage Act on June 23, has been at the center of gossip, particularly due to her interfaith marriage, which attracted criticism in India. Despite the trolling, Sonakshi won the hearts of her fans by transforming her seven-year relationship with Zaheer into a marriage.
However, just six months into their marriage, rumors of Sonakshi’s pregnancy began to swirl. These rumors gained momentum after she was seen visiting a hospital with her husband, fueling speculations. In response to the growing buzz, Sonakshi has decided to set the record straight.
In an interview with Indian media, Sonakshi openly addressed the rumors, saying, “When I was asked if we’ve been invited to many lunches or dinners after the wedding, I said yes. And I want to make it clear that I am not pregnant—I just got fat.” She went on to explain that their newlywed life has been filled with celebrations, including many meals, which might explain her weight gain.
Zaheer Iqbal also chimed in during the interview, referring to a viral picture from their Karwachauth celebration. “The funny thing is, a picture of us holding a dog went viral on social media, and even after seeing that, people thought Sonakshi was pregnant,” he said.
Sonakshi and Zaheer, who were in a relationship for seven years before marrying, had a private wedding ceremony attended only by close family and friends, including celebrities like Huma Qureshi and Aditi Rao Hydari. The couple later hosted a grand reception attended by Bollywood stars such as Rekha, Aditi Roy Kapur, Salman Khan, and Richa Chadha.
Despite the rumors, Sonakshi and Zaheer remain focused on their new life together and are enjoying their time as a married couple.
