“Hot Frosty” is kind of silly but it is funny, and cute.
It is a lighthearted Netflix’s Christmas rom-com that follows the magical and heartwarming story of a snowman-turned-human who helps a widow rediscover love and joy.
The film centers on Kathy (Lacey Chabert), a widow whose life takes an unexpected turn when a snowman (Dustin Milligan) she wrapped a scarf around comes to life. The newly human snowman, aptly named Jack, is hilariously clueless about the human world, spending much of his time binge-watching TV in Kathy’s living room.
Jack isn’t your typical holiday movie love interest. Instead of brooding or disliking the holidays, he’s utterly enchanted by Christmas, enthusiastically decorating Kathy’s house and embracing the festive spirit. His quirky charm and innocent fascination with human life make him an unconventional yet lovable lead.

What sets “Hot Frosty” apart is its clever, absurdist humor. While Kathy is understandably baffled by the whole situation, the rest of the town embraces Jack without question. In a running gag, the local women — particularly the older ones — are smitten with Jack, adding an extra layer of hilarity.
Craig Robinson shines as the overly dedicated local sheriff, hilariously arresting people for absurd crimes like “excessive candy unwrapping” during movies.
With its mix of heart, hilarity, and holiday cheer, “Hot Frosty” delivers a perfectly festive feel-good experience.
