Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for using “inappropriate” language in its political approach.
Addressing the media in London, CM Maryam stated, “Creating unrest is central to PTI’s politics. Those breaking the law will be held accountable.”
She condemned the recent heckling of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in London, remarking, “Only we can denounce what happened to Khawaja Asif.”
CM Maryam continued her criticism, saying, “The PTI’s sole purpose is simply to stage protests. These wrongful acts will inevitably lead to arrests.”
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had addressed media reports about her health, clarifying that she did not have throat cancer but had a condition related to her parathyroid gland.
Speaking at a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) event in London with her father, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, she said that she had been in Geneva for medical tests but is cancer-free and expects to return to Pakistan within two days.
“I’ve been working tirelessly for eight months. I have a parathyroid issue, which can only be treated in Switzerland or America. I was in Geneva for check-ups,” she said, dismissing the cancer rumors.
Maryam added that she initially refrained from discussing her health publicly, but recent speculation compelled her to address the issue. She reassured supporters of her return to Pakistan soon.
