Consumers will receive only 8-hour gas supply in winter season

The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced a new gas supply schedule for winter season for its 7.22 million consumers in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other areas of Pakistan.

The consumers will now get natural gas from 6:00am to 9:00am in morning, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm in afternoon and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at night, SNGPL said in a statement.

SNGPL Executive Officer (Technical) Muhammad Faisal said that they were supplying full pressure gas in all locations at the scheduled times in accordance with the government’s directions.

“Sometimes, consumers face shortage of gas due to technical fault otherwise we are providing full pressure gas in schedule timings,” he said.

According to the official, customers would receive full pressure gas at the designated times during the winter.

It should be noted that gas consumption rises in winter season as users prefer gas for heating usage instead of expensive electricity.
