Former cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi recently met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), sparking a flurry of attention on social media with images and videos from the encounter.
According to the JUI Sindh’s Secretary of Information, the meeting took place at the Karachi residence of JUI Sindh’s Secretary General, Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro.
Other JUI leaders present at the meeting included Allama Nasser Mahmood Soomro and Qari Muhammad Usman. The provincial Secretary of Information for JUI stated that discussions focused on the current political situation in the country.
During the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman commended Afridi for his dedication to welfare, patriotism, and his commitment to serving the nation.
Afridi also briefed the Maulana about his charitable activities, expressing admiration for Fazlur Rehman’s political insight and his emphasis on reasoned debate.
