Kareena Kapoor Khan’s latest film, The Buckingham Murders, had a modest opening on its first day. Released on September 13, the film collected approximately Rs 1.15 crore net in India, according to trade reports, while the film’s team reported a slightly higher figure of Rs 1.62 crore net.
Despite receiving positive reviews and acclaim for its crisp storytelling and Kareena’s performance, the film’s box office performance on its debut day remained below expectations.
Although the box office collection is quite low, the film cannot yet be termed a flop. It is advisable to wait for one week before making a final judgment on whether it will be considered a hit or a flop.
Directed by Hansal Mehta, The Buckingham Murders stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as a UK-based cop investigating a series of murders in Buckingham, following the tragic loss of her son. The film has been praised for its engaging narrative and strong performances, and it is anticipated that the collections may improve with positive word-of-mouth spreading on social media.
The film features a supporting cast including Ranveer Brar, Rukku Nahar, and Ash Tandon, among other British actors. With no new major releases this week, The Buckingham Murders could still see a steady run at the box office, though it may face some competition from the re-release of Tumbbad, which has garnered excellent word-of-mouth.
