The lawyer representing Natasha Iqbal in the Karsaz road accident case argued in court that his client suffers from a mental illness and left home without informing her family.
Natasha Iqbal, the wife of a prominent industrialist in Karachi, was involved in a tragic accident on Karsaz Road on Monday, where her speeding SUV struck bikers and pedestrians, resulting in the deaths of a father and daughter.
According to police reports, she collided with a motorcycle and then with other vehicles and pedestrians before crashing onto the service road. Two individuals were killed instantly, while a third succumbed to injuries later at the hospital.
Natasha is married to Danish Iqbal, Chairman of Gul Ahmed Energy Limited and its subsidiaries, as well as the Metro Power Group.

During the court proceedings, defense attorney Amir Mansoob Qureshi requested that Natasha not be presented before the judge due to her fragile mental state. He stated, “My client is mentally ill, relies on medication, and left home without notifying anyone before driving the car.” Qureshi added that she has been battling mental illness for the past five years.
He mentioned that the family is willing to pay the “Diya” (blood money) amounting to Rs 6.8 million per person.
In contrast, the police sought a seven-day remand for Natasha, but the court granted only a one-day remand. Currently, she is hospitalized for minor injuries sustained in the accident. The incident has attracted significant attention on social media.
