K-Electric (KE) has announced an extension for bill payments for July and August, following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The deadline for paying electricity bills has been extended by 10 days to provide relief to consumers facing financial stress.
According to a KE spokesperson, consumers now have until August 10 to pay their bills. Any late payment surcharges will be adjusted in the following month’s billing cycle. This extension will be reflected in next month’s payments as well, with bills for July and August due by September 10.
The extension follows a directive from Prime Minister Sharif to the Ministry of Energy, which ordered the Power Division to implement the new deadlines. The decision aims to alleviate the burden on consumers struggling with high electricity bills.
For instance, if the original due date for a July bill was August 7, it has now been extended to August 17. Similarly, August bills will be due by September 17, ensuring a consistent one-month interval between due dates.
