Pakistan produces the most expensive electricity in the region, making it increasingly unaffordable for its citizens. Following a disabled citizen Yaseen’s desperate cry to sell his organs to pay his bills, former hockey player and Olympian Zahid Sharif has now expressed his willingness to sell his kidney to cover his expenses.
Sharif has made a heartfelt appeal to the President, the Prime Minister, the Army Chief, and the Chief Minister of Punjab, seeking assistance due to his severe financial difficulties and inability to pay his electricity bill.

Highlighting his dire situation, Sharif urged the government to provide financial support to retired cricketers and hockey players.
He mentioned his medals and a kidney as assets he is willing to sell to make ends meet. This plea underscores the financial struggles faced by many retired athletes in Pakistan and the urgent need for better support systems for sports professionals after their careers end.
