The Finance Minister has assured a prompt resolution to the issue raised by K-Electric regarding delayed consumer bill payments collected via the post office, according to a press release issued today.
A meeting at the Finance Division was detailed in the release, attended by K-Electric’s CEO Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, CFO Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani, and Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer Muhammad Imran Qureshi along with the Finance Minister.
During the meeting, K-Electric emphasized that a previous agreement with the government had successfully addressed several challenges, allowing the company to actively pursue new generation projects aimed at improving its electricity mix.
The Finance Minister urged K-Electric to prioritize enhancing service delivery in Karachi and accelerating the deployment of cost-effective generation capacity. This, he stressed, would contribute to lowering the overall electricity costs for consumers.
The discussions underscored the government’s commitment to supporting K-Electric in modernizing its infrastructure and ensuring more reliable electricity supply to the residents of Karachi.
