The Sindh government will distribute hens and roosters to poor families registered in the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s advisor on Fisheries and Livestock, Najmi Alam, while speaking to media persons at the Thatta Press Club on Sunday.
He stated that each family would receive up to 50 birds, with the primary aim of providing eggs to the malnourished children of these families.
Najmi Alam also visited the Fisheries Ecoculture Research Institute Chilia in Thatta, where he inspected the training center, laboratory, breeding units, and other facilities, and released fish into Kenjhar Lake.
It should be noted that a few years ago, the then Prime Minister and now incarcerated founder of PTI, Imran Khan, had also announced a program for distributing chickens, goats, and cows to poor families across Pakistan. However, the program did not succeed as rivals of Khan ridiculed the initiative.
