ISLAMABAD: Huawei has pledged to training 200,000 young Pakistanis in information technology, including artificial intelligence.
During a meeting, Dr. Siddiqui emphasized the critical role Pakistani youth can play in developing the IT sector.
He commended Huawei’s dedication to training 200,000 young individuals and offered the Ministry’s support in establishing a Training Cloud to achieve this goal.
“Every year, 25,000 IT graduates complete their education from universities in Pakistan; however, only 5,000 secure jobs. We need to equip our youth with training in modern technology to bridge this gap,” Dr. Siddiqui stated.
He also pointed out the significant opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and China in the private sector, underscoring the importance of leveraging these opportunities to enhance the partnership between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the government will send 1,000 young people to China for agricultural training. Chairing a Federal Cabinet meeting last Tuesday, the Prime Minister briefed the cabinet on his recent visit to China, noting positive discussions about the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
A high-level Chinese delegation will visit Pakistan to further strengthen bilateral ties, the prime minister said, emphasizing the need of extending collaboration between China and Pakistan. He reported that during his tour, over a thousand meetings were held between investors and businessmen from China and Pakistan.
