KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet on Thursday directed provincial police officers to avoid press briefings or media conferences.
Sindh cabinet in this regard issued a notification for the second time in which it ordered security officers to refrain themselves from appearing in media talks shows and press conferences.
According to the notification, the officers are only permitted to provide their performance reports through press releases or else the Sindh government will take legal action against those violating the law.

On the other hand, the police force is not happy with the decision made by the provincial government as in this way their performance and contribution will not be highlighted among the citizens and institutions. Regarding the ban, police officers complained to the higher authorities for the imposing of the ban.
According to the notification, Sindh government officers have been restricted to interact with media and appear in any television talk show before getting permission from the higher authorities.
