The Ruet-e-Hilal committee meeting for the Zilhaj moon sighting will be held on June 7 wherein SPARCO, religious affairs, the meteorological department, and other representatives will participate.
Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.
The Central Sighting of Crescent committee meeting will be held on Friday at the Meteorological Department office in Karachi.
If Zu al-Qa’dah, the eleventh Islamic month, has 29 days, Zul-Hijjah will start on June 8, making Eid ul-Azha fall on Monday, June 17, 2024.
If Zu al-Qa’dah has 30 days, Zil-Hijjah will start on June 9, and Eid ul-Adha will be on Tuesday, June 18.
People are expected holidays to start from June 15, 2024 (Saturday) for five days. The holidays could also be extended in some cases. Usually, the government announces three to four holidays for both Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha.
For the last Eid-ul-Fitr in April, the government had announced four holidays.
