LAHORE: A British citizen of Pakistani descent has filed a formal complaint against an FIA officer, accusing him of torture during a routine immigration check at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The complaint, submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), implicates ASI Bilal, who has been immediately suspended pending an investigation. According to the complainant, who arrived in Lahore from Dubai, the altercation at the immigration counter occurred when ASI Bilal insisted on an e-visa. With the complainant’s cell phone dead, they requested Bilal to verify the visa using their passport number.
The situation escalated dramatically when ASI Bilal purportedly struck the passenger in the face and ear, resulting in a nosebleed. The victim, a British national, is demanding swift action against the officer, prompting both the CAA and FIA to initiate inquiries into the incident.
