The former first lady Bushra Bibi, under stringent security measures, made her way to Adiala Jail to meet her husband, Imran Khan, the Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), marking the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr.
Accompanied by a retinue of security personnel, Bushra Bibi was escorted from her residence in Bani Gala, where she remains under house arrest, to Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan is presently detained. The route leading to the jail was sealed off on one side to ensure an unimpeded journey for Bushra Bibi’s visit.
This visit comes in compliance with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) directive issued on April 1, mandating a meeting between Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi on Eidul Fitr. During the court proceedings, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb entertained Bushra Bibi’s plea to be relocated from Bani Gala Sub Jail to Adiala Jail.
Furthermore, Imran Khan observed the Eidul Fitr prayers at the Central Jamia Masjid within Adiala jail premises on Wednesday. Notably, he was accompanied by the detained PTI leader, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the former foreign minister. Post-prayer, Imran Khan and Qureshi exchanged warm embraces, extending Eid greetings to each other.
The congregational prayers also saw the presence of prison officers alongside former prime minister.
Meanwhile, outside Adiala Jail, a gathering of PTI supporters assembled in solidarity with their leader, Imran Khan, led by PTI North Punjab President Seemabia Tahir. Despite their efforts to reach the main gate of the jail, their advance was thwarted by the police, who had cordoned off the road leading to Adiala Jail.
