The last Friday of Ramadan, known as Jamat-ul-Vida, holds immense significance among Muslims, especially in the subcontinent. This day is revered with great religious fervor, as believers consider it spiritually momentous. On Jamat-ul-Vida, Muslims intensify their worship, encourage children to observe fasting, and many adorn themselves in new attire.
However, contrary to popular belief, religious scholars argue that the last Friday of Ramadan bears no unique significance beyond other Fridays of the holy month. They cite the absence of evidence from the life of Prophet Muhammad and his companions to support the notion of observing this day with special reverence.
In accordance with a Fatwa issued by Jamat-ul-Uloom-e-Islamia Banuri Town Karachi, it is not established in Islamic tradition that this day merits distinct observance. Therefore, it is regarded akin to any other Friday during Ramadan.
Of course, every Friday holds great significance in Islam, and every day of Ramadan is also very important. However, the last Friday of Ramadan is just as significant as other Fridays of Ramadan.
